![]() After making the deal, BRB had to try and work with the Wii U’s hardware, as it couldn’t handle the graphics levels of the CryEngine 3 (I believe it’s the only Wii U game to use the CryEngine 3), so they had to downgrade a ton of the details and eventually rework the game even further due to SEGA wanting it to tie in with the brand new TV Show. ![]() Those games eventually ending up being Sonic Lost World, Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, and finally, Sonic Synergy as it was called at the time. ![]() Sometime in 2012 I believe, SEGA made a deal with Nintendo that their next three Sonic games would be released exclusively on Nintendo Consoles (Wii U & 3DS respectively). Project Apollo was the codename, and they spent alot of time on the main character redesigns, the plot, and the concept art, so so much concept art that is still rare to come across. The project started after the last mainline game release at the time (Sonic Unleashed), and SEGA gave Big Red Button the ok to create a whole new, from the ground up, alternate universe of the Sonic the Hedgehog world like none had seen before. Sonic Synergy, or Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, just had so much potential.
